Eydie Nelson Photography…I believe in simple…I believe in timeless…I believe in beautiful.

Organic portraits remove the excess and distractions that can overwhelm what is truly important in a photograph – the love and connection between you and your child. The absence of loudness in my photographs allows you to see and feel the emotional connection of your family.

I understand how it feels to hold your tiny baby for the very first time, and feel the gravity of how your world instantly changes for the better. Those first few days are such a wonderful blur…full of excitement, exhaustion, and heartfelt love.  And, as hard has we try to hold onto those sweet moments, they easily slip our minds.

If you’re expecting, you may be considering scheduling a Minneapolis newborn photography session soon after your sweet one is born. Eydie Nelson Photography in Minneapolis offers organic portraiture which is simple and beautiful.  Eydie specializes in baby and infant photography, in studio or on location, and she strives to capture unscripted, true-to-life moments. I suggest thinking about the following tips when considering scheduling a newborn photography session.

  • Location: The location of your photo shoot often depends on how the mother is feeling after delivery, plus your desired portrait style. You can travel to the studio for a more controlled environment, or you can stay at home for a more lifestyle photography experience. Other locations are also a possibility. When choosing the location, think about the natural light as Eydie feels produces the best results.
  • Subjects: Your newborn is the focus of the photo, but some families decide they’d like to be in the picture as well. Talk to your family about who should be in the photo and make your decision beforehand.
  • Purpose: What will you do with the portrait? I love for you to experience the beautiful art of your portraits…they need to be hung on your walls and enjoyed every time you walk by them.  In addition, I believe you should have a digital file for archivial purposes.

Eydie Nelson’s most popular photography booking is her Collective One Year Plan: a special series of photographs documenting your baby’s first year of life. This plan includes four full sessions starting with newborn and continuing with three months, six months, and culminating at the child’s first birthday.
