this sweet, little mimi bird hopped into my life a few years back. when my little girl started talking, she called everything "mimi." she chirped "mimi" all the time. and, from that time on, we called her our little mimi bird. during this time, i was at a local boutique and stumbled upon the most fitting little piece of art. on the picture was a very sweet, chunky, little bird and the title was "mimi bird." i of course had to have it...it seemed as if it was made for us and still hangs in our home today. my very own little mimi bird, grace, who is my older baby, is the one who made me fall in love with the camera. and, it is this little bird that will be a constant reminder of the inspiration that makes me so very happy when taking photographs.
i adore this family and love when i get to see them…we met on one hot, hot sunday a couple weeks ago…little ones never seem to notice when it is 95 degrees and humid. life and playing went on as normal. these little guys, who are twins have grown so fast and i have enjoyed watching them grow. their personalities are so different…each with their own adorable qualities. sam, and ryan…always a joy. :)
i love first birthday cake shots…super cute and super messy. we were prepared for a major mess, but mr. shilo was a very clean cake eater. :) he seemed to enjoy the flavor on each of his tiny fingers…what a peach. happy birthday little guy!
it was the most beautiful summer afternoon and i got to spend it with olivia and paige…two little blondes who were adorable and sweet. we had fun playing and i even got a few kisses during our shoot. it doesn’t get it any better than that. :) it was nice to meet you jen and matt…thank you!
it is always a joy when i get to travel to iowa to take photos of these beautiful little girls…alex just turned one and was as cute as can be. she has learned to walk and there is nothing cuter than a baby walking with their yummy rolly polly legs. and, her big sister is always one of my most photogenic little friends. she loves to smile at me and of course i love that. :) thanks, jen and pat…i loved seeing you all.
mackenzie was the first senior i have ever photographed…and, as you can see she made my job very, very easy. when mackenzie’s mom contacted me last year to photograph her daughter, i was so excited for the opportunity, yet very apprehensive because i had never photographed a senior before. such a different territory than photographing little ones. she is beautiful inside and out and i had so much fun photographing her. i don’t think i could have had a better first time model…she was a pro…so photogenic and such a natural in front of the camera. i appreciate SO much the faith that mackenzie’s family put in me…it was a joy to work with you. mackenzie, i hope you have a fantastic senior year! here are a few of my favorites and it was so hard to choose. many more photos to come…
