this sweet, little mimi bird hopped into my life a few years back. when my little girl started talking, she called everything "mimi." she chirped "mimi" all the time. and, from that time on, we called her our little mimi bird. during this time, i was at a local boutique and stumbled upon the most fitting little piece of art. on the picture was a very sweet, chunky, little bird and the title was "mimi bird." i of course had to have it...it seemed as if it was made for us and still hangs in our home today. my very own little mimi bird, grace, who is my older baby, is the one who made me fall in love with the camera. and, it is this little bird that will be a constant reminder of the inspiration that makes me so very happy when taking photographs.
i met this very adorable family in january…little otto was just days old and a teeny peanut {baby otto}. he is growing big now and was full of the most adorable smiles. and, max…well, i am still in love with his curls. i don’t think i could ever cut them if i were his mommy.:) i loved seeing you all again…we had so much fun on a gloomy spring afternoon.
this little guy had THE bluest eyes of any little one i have ever photographed…they just sparked with blueness and matched his shirt perfectly. :) little jonathan was having kind of a rough day…he was getting some new teeth and wasn’t feeling his normal self…i was happy that he still showed me a few little smiles. what a sweet pea. it was so nice getting to know his parents. thank you, N family.

I feel very honored to be a part of the Pictures of Hope Foundation, a national charitable organization, benefiting families in the neonatal intensive care unit {NICU}. The pictures of hope foundation {POH} is comprised of professional photographers from all over the united states, that provides an opportunity for professional photographers to give back to their community. Members of Pictures of Hope, offer complimentary, documentary-style photography services to families with a child in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Time spent in the NICU is often an unexpected journey for families, a journey full of overwhelming emotions…sadness, confusion, hope, celebration and unfortunately, at times grief. Throughout this roller coaster of emotions, many parents do not consider the importance of documenting these moments in their lives nor do they think about how much they will truly cherish these images years down the road. Pictures of Hope provides you with invaluable photographs of your sweet one that you will cherish forever.
At the request of the parents, a photographer will come to your NICU room and photograph your baby using the available light in your room. Pictures of Hope is a charitable organization, there are no fees for the services provided by our participating members.
